This project involved using photos of historically significant, woodblock prints from Japan, and transforming them into animation using Adobe Photoshop. Layers for each motion series were saved to the timeline output as an animated GIF file.

This is the artwork I started with.

I transformed the background into a
stage using Photoshop layers, brushes, clone tool, etc. and removed all
foreground figures. Then I added back
each of the animation elements to
successive layers.
